OUR STORY

We are Hans and Alice and we’ve been visiting Le Marche for over 12 years and were instantly captivated by this beautiful region — its unspoiled nature, charming villages, friendly people, and, of course, the delicious food and excellent wines. At one point, we thought: Why not live here?

The search began! We consulted extensively with real estate agents and locals who knew of beautiful properties. Finally, during the coronavirus pandemic, after viewing hundreds of houses online, we found one that truly appealed to us. We immediately contacted our real estate agent in Le Marche to arrange a viewing and requested photos and videos. A few days later, we received everything we asked for, and our excitement only grew. We quickly discussed our offer and set the agent to work.

A few weeks later, we reached an agreement in principle. Only the local farmers’ cooperation was still needed, but eventually, all the paperwork was completed. Since we couldn’t travel to Italy to view the house and sign the transfer documents in person, a complex process was set up to sign everything remotely — involving notaries and lawyers both in Italy and the Netherlands, with documents sent back and forth.

Finally, in 2021, we were able to visit Le Marche and see our beautiful house. From the very first moment, we fell in love! The location halfway up the hills, the spacious garden with fruit and olive trees, the surrounding nature, the tranquility, and yet the proximity to essential amenities — just a five-minute drive — made it perfect. Excellent restaurants are only 10 to 15 minutes away, ideal for a memorable lunch or dinner. These were major plus points, and we hope our guests feel the same magic when they visit our casa.

We visit the house three times a year for maintenance, but in between, we enjoy the surroundings, local wines, delicious food, and the pleasant climate. Our dogs, Happy and Lucky, now have their own space to run and play freely. After all these years, the house is mostly finished, and we are excited to start welcoming guests.
